Classes / Schedule
Join Paper Daisy on Friday as we explore the wonderful world of colorful knits! Learn how to successfully pull together yarn for any project, whether shopping from stash, at your LYS, or online.
We’ll experience Lisa’s favorite tips and tricks for maximizing graphic impact with minimal effort, as well as how to go off-book and create something truly unique to your own shape and style!
In the afternoon, we’ll try something new with a fun project led by Wild Onion. We’ll enjoy dinner together and make plans to put our color confidence skills to the test during tomorrow’s shopping excursion.
On Saturday, we’ll drive over to Hazel Knits, where you’ll be met with floor to ceiling walls (plural!) of colorful yarn. Will it be intimidating? Nope! You’ll use your newfound color confidence to pull together palettes for your next project and beyond.
Lisa will be there to answer questions, offer advice, and explore combinations that are as unique as each one of you!
Wendee and Dave (the dyers behind Hazel Knits) will be treating us to a behind-the-scenes look at how they transform the wool that comes from the mill into their vibrantly dyed skeins. Afterward, it’s back to the hotel for Show and Tell so we can ‘oooh’ and ‘ahhh’ over your new color palettes, then dinner on your own.
Sunday we will head to Pike Place, Seattle’s original famer’s market and the center of locally sourced, artisan, and specialty foods. We will split up to experience the market, which includes 2 additional yarn shops, local artisan goods, and a variety of specialty foods and experiences.
We’ll come back together for lunch to talk about all of our favorite things, then head back to class. During our final class, each student will use everything we’ve learned throughout the weekend to make plans for their next knitting project.
Sunday evening we will enjoy one more dinner together before saying our goodbyes… and making plans to keep in touch online!
