WOOLEN CIRCLE Private Tour, Iceland

WOOLEN CIRCLE PRIVATE TOUR, ICELAND

REKYAVIK, ICELAND

JUNE 13, 2026

This custom private day tour explores the heart of Iceland’s wool tradition — from plant-dyed yarn to small-scale spinning and weaving — following what’s informally known as the Icelandic Woolen Circle in South Iceland. The route runs alongside the Golden Circle area, but instead of focusing on the usual high-traffic landmarks, the day is tailored around artisan workshops, local businesses, and cultural storytelling. Your guide will provide historical and cultural insight throughout the drive, connecting Iceland’s landscape, farming traditions, and wool heritage in a relaxed, unrushed way. The itinerary is flexible and paced to your group’s interests, with time for conversation, browsing, and an authentic Icelandic meal along the way.

Your Reykjavik tour itinerary

After pickup in Reykjavík, we travel in a comfortable Mercedes Benz minibus through scenic countryside while your guide shares cultural and historical insight into Icelandic sheep farming and wool production. Stops include: • Hespa – a plant-dye studio using traditional Icelandic methods • Þingborg – a local wool store and workshop • Uppspuni Mini Mill – a small spinning mill processing Icelandic wool. We’ll include a stop for an authentic Icelandic lunch at a quality local restaurant (location adjusted to availability and preferences). If time and conditions allow, one additional scenic or cultural stop can be added along the route. This tour is fully private, relaxed in pace, and tailored to your group’s interests.
